VASCO announces its new Digipass 865
Strong authentication and e-signature capability
Digipass 865 can be used in connected and unconnected mode. In unconnected mode it offers
strong authentication and e-signature capability and is ideal for use in environments with high security requirements including PKI/digital signature, secure PIN verification, corporate network access, e-banking and e-commerce transactions.
When used in connected mode it can be used for a number of
PKI-based applications, such as e-ID card or e-health applications. While connected, Digipass 865 can securely and remotely download applications into the reader.
Digipass 865 has an 8 line display, allowing 21 characters per line. This advanced display is set to become the
new standard for e-signature. It allows the user to validate significant data on the Digipass 865 display before signing the transaction. This “what you see is what you sign” functionality offers an additional level of security for performing electronic transactions over the Internet.
“With Digipass 865, VASCO again gives an answer to the ever increasing vulnerability of PC platforms in Internet environments. Static passwords no longer offer sufficient
protection for PKI, e-wallet or e-banking applications. More often these applications are exposed to
Trojans or key loggers. By entering the PIN code on the pin pad of the Digipass 865 and not on the computer keyboard increased security measures are in place to protect computer users against fraudulent abuse.”, says Jan Valcke, President and COO at VASCO Data Security.
