EVault for DPM

i365 has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to develop a solution that will extend Microsoft® Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2010 across non-Microsoft platforms and into the cloud. This solution will leverage i365’s EVault® data protection and cloud-connected storage solutions infrastructure to provide backup and disaster recovery for Windows and non-Windows systems.

Many companies that adopt Microsoft® Data Protection Manager 2010 as their standard for Windows backup and recovery also run other operating systems and applications. They need a single solution that extends Microsoft DPM to protect data in non-Windows environments as well.

An Integrated Solution

The new Microsoft/i365 collaboration intends to provide an integrated data protection environment for Windows file servers and applications—as well as UNIX, Linux, Novell Netware, VMware, IBM System i, and Oracle platforms. The solution will enable IT teams to provide data protection and disaster recovery more efficiently and at less cost.
